Muffle furnace — “Muffle” means to wrap/envelop, and “furnace” means a heating chamber. Common names for muffle furnaces in China include: electric furnace, resistance furnace, Mufu furnace, and Ma Fu furnace. A muffle furnace is a general-purpose heating device; based on appearance and shape, it can be classified as a box furnace, tube furnace, or crucible furnace.

Applications:

(1) Thermal processing, industrial workpiece treatment, cement, and building materials industry — for small workpiece thermal processing or treatment.

(2) Pharmaceutical industry: used for drug inspection, medical sample preprocessing, etc.

(3) Analytical chemistry industry: used as sample processing in water quality analysis, environmental analysis, and related fields. Can also be used for petroleum and its analysis.

(4) Coal quality analysis: used for determining moisture, ash content, volatile matter, ash fusibility analysis, ash composition analysis, and elemental analysis. Can also serve as a general ashing furnace.

The LMF series benchtop muffle furnace features a 550 cubic inch cavity with fiber insulation and refractory brick heating plates. The furnace cabinet is made of 16-gauge steel with a baked epoxy resin coating. A top exhaust port vents gases, or it can be blocked during operation to seal the opening. Two temperature controller models are available: automatic and multi-stage programmable.

The LMF series muffle furnace is ideal for heat treatment applications, material research, and sample ashing determination in the geological, metallurgical, and wastewater treatment industries. These furnaces can also be used in chemistry, physics, and engineering laboratories.

The LMF-A550 muffle furnace features an analog pyrometer that displays temperature in 50° increments. Temperature is adjusted via a large control dial in 100° increments. The controller offers excellent repeatability.

The LMF-3550 muffle furnace features a 3-stage programmable temperature controller that stores up to 10 programs in memory. Any two programs can be linked to create a six-stage program. A single program is dedicated to a single setpoint for indefinite hold at that setpoint. A delay cycle function allows the furnace to be set to enter a heating cycle at a specific time on a future date. The PID controller allows programmable heat increase/decrease rates during the cycle.
