The MPS10-240 melting point apparatus was designed with safety and ease of operation in mind, making it an ideal choice for education. Temperature is selected, measured, and displayed digitally, making it accurate and eliminating the need for a thermometer.

The MPS10-240 melting point apparatus displays temperature at 1-degree resolution. Two samples can be tested simultaneously. They are observed through a magnifying glass with built-in illumination to aid clear viewing. Adjustable rear feet allow the device to operate at the optimal viewing angle. Full access to the block facilitates cleaning. Simple and easy-to-understand instructions are printed directly on the instrument. Operation is simply achieved by selecting the stage temperature via the digital display and pressing “Start.” The device heats quickly and holds at the selected stage temperature until the user is ready to begin testing. Insert the sample tube and press “Start.” The device then heats the MPS10 at a fixed rate of 2°C per minute. When the sample is seen to melt, note the temperature on the display. Press “Stop” to end heating and cool the block.

Melting point tubes are made of soda glass; these tubes are easily sealed in a Bunsen flame and cleanly break into two parts. A sturdy tube rack and 100 tubes are included. Total tube length is 100 mm; outer diameter = 1.9 mm (0.07"), inner diameter = 1.3 mm (0.05"), wall thickness = 0.3 mm (0.01")
